Bolton Chess Club

Improving your chess.

Bolton Chess Club is setting up a small group to meet and discuss ways to improve our chess.

Our first meeting is:

Monday 12^th January 2026

Victoria Hall

8.30p.m.

We will:

·       Restrict attendance to current members of the Chess Club

·       Look at an interesting position from a Grandmaster game (See below).

·       Consider possible future topics, e.g. our own games; key positions we have confronted; GM games; Opening variations; tactical or strategic themes and ideas in chess; presentations from our strongest players; any other topics you might like to select.

·       Consider possible dates/days and cost.

·       Use of the Bolton Chess Club website to share thoughts.
