91 players competed at the Bolton Easter congress, held at the Bolton UkrainianSocial club, Friday 18th – Sunday 20th April.

In the Open section the surprise winner was John Jarmany. His two key games were adraw in round two with second seed, Joseph McPhillips, and a fine win in roundfour against top seeded Adam Ashton. In the final round Joseph and John wereboth on 3.5pts but Adam beat Joseph whereas John concluded an excellenttournament with a victory over Simon Doherty.
