The European Individual Chess Championship 2021 begins today in Reykjavik, Iceland, and will last until September 5th. The total prize fund is €100,000 (1st: €20,000).

190 players from 36 federations, 32 of which 2600+, will fight for the title and several qualification spots for the FIDEWorldCup 2023, while the top U20 player will qualify for the 2021 FIDEGrandSwiss. Tope Seed English GM Gawain Jones.
